DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities have taken a second suspect into custody following a multi-month narcotics investigation led by the Davie County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff J.D. Hartman announced that Craig Freddrick Wiand was arrested on May 1, 2026. Wiand is being held without bond under the state’s Pre-Trial Integrity Act and is scheduled to appear in court on May 14, 2026, in Davie County District Court.
The arrest follows an investigation that concluded on April 30, 2026, targeting suspected narcotics activity at residences along Barney Road in Advance and Lois Lane in Mocksville.
Authorities identified two suspects during the investigation: Rhiannon Mccorkle, 45, and Wiand, 46. Both face multiple serious charges, including four counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, six counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances, and two counts of possession with intent to sell, manufacture, or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.
Mccorkle was arrested on April 30 during the execution of a search warrant at the Lois Lane residence in Mocksville. She received a secured bond of $87,500 and shares the same May 14 court date.
Investigators say additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered during the search, and further charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
Authorities had initially reported Wiand as wanted, but confirm he is now in custody. Anyone with additional information related to the case is encouraged to contact the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.
