The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office says a traffic stop has led to the arrest of a man accused in connection with the theft of auto parts from a local business.
Deputies responded Monday, February 23, to a report of stolen automotive parts from a business along Mocksville Highway in eastern Iredell County. Investigators say more than $1,000 worth of parts were taken overnight.
The case was assigned to Detective S. Zalepka with the Criminal Investigations Division, who reviewed surveillance video from the business. The footage revealed a suspect vehicle believed to be involved in the theft.
On Thursday, February 26, Detective Zalepka spotted the same vehicle traveling on Mocksville Highway. Deputies conducted a traffic stop after noticing the vehicle was displaying a fictitious license plate.
The driver was identified as 41-year-old Adam Steven High. Authorities say High was driving with a suspended license and had outstanding warrants for misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor injury to personal property.
Detectives say further investigation produced additional evidence linking High to the auto parts theft. He was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with felony larceny. High was also served with his outstanding warrants.
He is being held under a $30,000 secured bond issued by District Court Judge C. Marlowe.
