A Troutman man is facing dozens of additional charges connected to a series of shootings and property damage incidents first reported by WAME News in February.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old James Ray Bost of Perth Road in Troutman was taken back into custody on May 7 and booked into the Iredell County Detention Facility.

In this latest arrest, Bost has been charged with a total of 48 criminal counts, including:

• 18 felony counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property

• 20 misdemeanor counts of assault with a deadly weapon

• 8 misdemeanor counts of injury to personal property

Authorities say Bost was rearrested and charged with the new offenses following an ongoing investigation connected to multiple reported shootings and damaged vehicles in the Troutman area. He is currently being held without bond.

WAME News first reported on the shootings in February, and after a months-long investigation, Bost was arrested on Saturday, May 2nd. He was then arrested again Thursday on the latest round of charges.

In the original case, Bost was charged with eight counts of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and eight counts of misdemeanor injury to personal property. Magistrate T. Thompson previously issued Bost a $50,000 secured bond.

Investigators with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office say the investigation remains ongoing.
