BERMUDA RUN — A routine traffic stop in the early morning hours of February 5, 2026, led to the arrest of two women on multiple charges, including identity theft and outstanding warrants from neighboring counties, according to the Davie County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say a deputy stopped a silver Honda Civic around 1:30 a.m. for a traffic violation on Highway 801 North in Bermuda Run. During the stop, the female driver allegedly provided a false identity. Through investigative techniques, including database photograph comparisons, the deputy determined the driver was not who she claimed to be.
The driver was later identified as Tiffany Brooke Vanzant, 30, of Bryon Street in Denton. Investigators say Vanzant admitted she gave false information because she had an active order for arrest out of Davidson County.
The female passenger also allegedly provided false identification. She was identified as Krystal Lynne Renee Brewer, 29, of the 200 block of Sparrow Lane in Lexington. Authorities say Brewer had two outstanding orders for arrest from Davidson County and Cabarrus County.
Both women were taken into custody and transported to the Davie County Detention Center without incident.
Vanzant was charged with identity theft and resisting a public officer. She received a $2,500 secured bond for the Davie County charges and a $1,000 secured bond for the Davidson County charges. Her court date is set for February 19, 2026, in Davie County District Court.
Brewer was charged with identity theft and resisting a public officer. She received a $2,500 secured bond for the Davie County charges, a $5,000 secured bond for the Davidson County charges, and a $5,000 secured bond for the Cabarrus County charges. Brewer is also scheduled to appear in Davie County District Court on February 19, 2026.
Authorities did not report any injuries related to the incident.
