Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office Conducting Death Investigation Near Lake Hickory

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred Thursday after deputies responded to a residence on Driftwood Drive in Granite Falls near Lake Hickory.

According to Sheriff Kevin Bean, deputies were called to the scene at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Thursday. Detectives also responded and are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.

Officials say the body will be transported to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information is being released at this time.
