Five individuals were taken into custody late Tuesday night after an attempted drug sale in Mocksville led deputies to a stolen vehicle and a large quantity of marijuana, according to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.

Construction is continuing on both the downtown Parking Deck and the Statesville Police Department Expansion, despite recent winter weather impacting work schedules.

Statesville police are investigating a shots fired call reported Thursday morning in the 1300 block of Wilson Lee Boulevard.

Joseph Ross Gibson, 54, was last seen around the end of January in Statesville. He is described as a white male, approximately 5’7” tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
